Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) is a glass fiber reinforced composite material consisting of a matrix material and a reinforcement material.
Generally, resin is used as the matrix material, and glass fiber is used as the reinforcing material.
In order to make the FRP material have some special properties, other specific materials can be added to the FRP matrix material.
GRE Pipeline Features
GRE pipe - glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin pipe (hereinafter referred to as GRE pipe), because of its light weight, high strength, strong corrosion resistance, convenient installation and maintenance, is widely used in petroleum, chemical, electric power, metallurgy, medicine and other fields.
Compared with steel pipes, GRE pipes have the following advantages:
① Good corrosion resistance and long service life, especially when used in the seaside salt spray environment, it can better reflect its superior performance in anti-corrosion, and the service life can be as long as 30 years;
②Excellent physical properties. Compared with steel pipes, the specific gravity of GRE pipes is only about 1/4 of steel pipes, and it has higher specific strength, while the thermal conductivity is only about 0.5% of steel, which is a good heat transfer insulator;
④ Lower installation and maintenance costs. GRE pipelines do not require special anti-corrosion treatment, which reduces initial investment and later maintenance costs; and the pipeline is lighter in weight and can be connected by non-welding. Compared with steel pipelines, the installation cost is lower;
⑤Excellent hydraulic properties. The inner surface of the GRE pipe can almost consider the energy loss of fluid transportation according to the hydraulic smooth pipe. Therefore, when conveying the same flow of fluid, a fluid transportation pipeline with a smaller diameter or a fluid transportation pump with a lower power can be used, thereby reducing The initial investment of the project saves electricity and reduces operating costs.
GRE pipe has the characteristics of small specific gravity, high specific strength; chemical corrosion resistance; excellent hydraulic properties; low installation and later maintenance costs, etc., and is being widely used in various fields.
